Senator Bong Go, adopted son of Pangasinan, advocates for accessible healthcare, livelihood opportunities and local development: ‘ilapit ang serbisyo sa mga Pilipino’

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, an adopted son of Pangasinan, reaffirmed his commitment to deliver accessible services at the community-level particularly in poor and far-flung areas as a means to ensure inclusive development. He joined the Duter-TEN motorcade traversing Mangaldan, Dagupan City, and Calasiao on Sunday, April 27.

Earlier in the day, Senator Go’s team also visited several towns, including Mangaldan, Manaoag, Pozorrubio, Binalonan, Urdaneta, and Mapandan, engaging with residents and ensuring that the message of ‘serbisyo at malasakit’ reached even more Pangasinenses.

Throughout the motorcade, Senator Go emphasized his enduring mission to prioritize the welfare of local communities, particularly in the areas of healthcare, livelihood, local development, education, youth, and sports. Warmly welcomed by residents, Senator Go assured them that he would tirelessly offer his energy, compassion, and public service for the benefit of all Filipinos, especially those from Region I.

“Maraming salamat po sa mainit na pagtanggap dito po sa probinsya ng Pangasinan. Galing po tayo ng Calasiao, galing po tayo ng Dagupan (City) at galing tayo ng Mangaldan. Salamat po sa inyong lahat,” said Senator Go during the motorcade.

Staying true to his core advocacy of grassroots service, Senator Go reiterated his commitment: “Isusulong ko po na ilapit ang serbisyo ng gobyerno sa ating mga kababayan.”

He then directed particular attention to healthcare, encouraging Pangasinenses to avail themselves of medical assistance offered through the Malasakit Centers conveniently located at the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City and the Conrado F. Estrella Regional Medical and Trauma Center in Rosales.

These Malasakit Centers, established under Republic Act No. 11463 or the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, are a product of Senator Go’s efforts as the principal author and sponsor of the law. The Act establishes one stop shops in key hospitals to streamline medical assistance for poor and indigent patients.

According to the DOH, the program has already aided over 17 million Filipinos—a testament to its wide-reaching impact.

Further strengthening healthcare initiatives, Senator Go highlighted that through collective efforts with DOH, local government units (LGUs), and fellow lawmakers, sufficient funds have been allocated for the construction of more than 700 Super Health Centers nationwide.

In Pangasinan alone, 30 Super Health Centers are already funded—to bolster the province’s healthcare accessibility and fortifies local health systems for the long term.

Complementing these efforts, Senator Go principally sponsored and is one of the authors of Republic Act No. 11959, also known as the Regional Specialty Centers Act. This law mandates the establishment of regional specialty centers within existing DOH regional hospitals, ensuring that specialized medical care becomes more accessible to Filipinos outside Metro Manila.

Prior to the motorcade, Senator Go also met with some of the province’s local leaders and supporters, including former Congresswoman Gina de Venecia who signified her support to Go’s candidacy and advocacies.

The visit underscored a shared commitment between Senator Go and Pangasinan’s key figures to pursue initiatives focused on healthcare, livelihood, education, youth development, and local infrastructure.

Capping off the day’s activities, Senator Go stood alongside his fellow “DuterTEN” senatorial candidates, calling on the public to rally behind leaders who are willing to work fearlessly and selflessly for the good of the country. He stressed that the team’s vision is anchored on true public service, aimed at building a stronger, more inclusive nation for every Filipino.

“Patuloy kaming magseserbisyo sa inyo dahil bisyo ko ang magserbisyo at ako ay naniniwala na ang serbisyo sa tao ay serbisyo ‘yan sa Panginoon, serbisyo ‘yan kay Allah,” underscored Senator Go, widely known as Mr. Malasakit for his compassionate and action-oriented service to Filipinos in need.
